Aiming to be ready for B787-9 related crewmembers training, PSAA has completed the process of acquiring B787-9 Door Trainer in a timely manner.
TFC Simulatoren und Technik GmbH has manufactured the B787-9 Door Trainer for PSAA. Concurrently, TFC has also manufactured a multi-aircraft type Cockpit Door Security System (CDSS). TFC is recognized today as a world leader in designing and constructing high quality cabin trainers.
The Factory Final Acceptance for both B787-9 Door Trainer and CDSS was accomplished on the 07 DEC 2015, at TFC Dusseldorf Germany, by Manager Technical Services Mr. Abdulrahman Fadel and Safety Instructor Mr. Mohammed Atawi.
Both training equipment were successfully installed at PSAA premises, on 18 DEC 2015, and were subsequently accepted by the General Authority of Civil Aviation on 23 DEC 2015; all went ahead of the planned schedule.
The B787-9 Door Trainer consists of one Main Entry Door (L1) and an integrated visual simulation system with key features to simulate the aircraft door in normal and emergency modes. Door malfunctions; including handle blocked, door blocked, slide inflation failure and power assist failure; as well as door observation window scenes; such as fire, water, stairs, obstructions etc.; are standard features that can be controlled via a touch screen located at the Instructor Operating Station.
The Cockpit Door Security System is a mandatory training device for airlines complying with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements. it represents multi-aircraft type; namely, B747, B777, B787, A330, A320 and EMB170 aircraft.
